The Pelvis and

the Breath.

An online workshop - 6th March 2025

Thursday 6th March from 6.30-9pm

This ONLINE workshop is an opportunity for EMBODIED PELVIC CARE AND CONNECTION.

Despite what we are told, we do not have a floor at the base of our pelvis - we have a dynamic and responsive confluence of muscle and connective tissue that we can access using awareness, breath and gentle movement.

During this workshop we will be tuning into the pelvic landscape by locating the bony and tissue landmarks (and their relationship to other landmarks in the body), using felt-sense awareness (sensation), exploring gentle movement and breath work. When we attune to the body in this way, we can begin to notice the more subtle experience of our body.

If you find it hard to be with the experience of your body without willing something to change or find it hard to be with the experience of the body with kindness and care, this workshop will be an opportunity to create some alternative blueprints.

If you’ve lost connection with your pelvis, feel frustrated by ongoing pelvic pathology, discomfort, numbness or a lack of connection to your creative energy (which is housed in the root of our body), this workshop offers time to open the doors to being with your base, without fixing, and discovering means to embrace what you find.

The female pelvis is a receptacle. It receives, creates and allows things to pass through it. Historically - through the bodies of our ancestors - and in the collective experience - the female pelvis has endured and responded to the nature of medical culture, birth culture, relationship culture, and culture more widely.

This workhop offers a space for the legacy of the pelvis to be acknowledged - and to practice being with this place in our body in real time.

This workshop is an invitation for you to come and be held well, to take time to put your hands and attention on your own body and find out how this can be healing.

..and to feel in your body what Bell Hooks said - that ‘Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion’.

What PEOPLE HAVE SAID ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP…

Emily is a profound mentor, example and guide on this journey into deeper connection with our innermost body. The knowledge she imparts about our physiology is evidence based but the awareness she engenders is intuitive. She has a magical way of drawing out and honouring the embodied wisdom each person already possesses, rather than seeking to impose it from the outside, so that learning from her feels like rediscovering something you knew all along but wanted to be reminded of. In her groups, she creates a grounded, nourishing environment where I felt truly comfortable, at rest and able to be myself - a perfect atmosphere for discovery and exploration. I took away from this workshop some very practical exercises to use in daily practice, but also an experience of the difference they make, so that I am actually inclined to incorporate them into my everyday life. The sense of a greater aliveness, connection and harmony has remained with me. I’m sure the world would be an even better place to live if everyone had the chance to learn these skills from Emily.
